Update of the AASHTO Guide for the Planning, Design, and Operation of Pedestrian Facilities

Overview

The 1st Edition of the AASHTO Guide for the Planning, Design, and Operation of Pedestrian Facilities (AASHTO Pedestrian Guide) was published in 2004 and reflects the state of the practice in 2001 – 2002 when it was written. Being the first edition, this guide may need some content changes or additions that were discovered once practitioners began using the guide. In addition, there has been newer research in many areas affecting the planning, design, and operation of pedestrian facilities. This project developed a proposed outline of the scope and content for the next edition of the AASHTO Pedestrian Guide.
