Measuring Cement Particle Size and Surface Area by Laser Diffraction

Overview

The objectives of this research were to (1) evaluate the practicality and effectiveness of the laser diffraction method to measure the particle size distribution and total surface area of cement powder compared to current methods in use by the state DOTs and (2) prepare a test method to measure particle size distribution and total surface area of cement powder by laser diffraction in AASHTO standard format.
