NOCoE is pleased to announce that it will be holding a National Summit on June 22-23, 2016 at the Maritime Institute outside of Baltimore, Maryland to explore the issues and advance the national actions around growing and sustaining the workforce necessary to successfully execute Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSM&O). The Summit is intended to:
 
1. Recognize and reach consensus on current state-of-practice issues relative to the workforce engaged in TSM&O activities across the industry (government, private sector and academia) and the array of challenges faced; and,


2.  Define a consensus strategic direction and define specific initiatives for advancing TSM&O workforce objectives for the NOCoE, it's sponsoring agencies (AASHTO, ITE, ITS America and FHWA) and other TSM&O stakeholders –public and private. For more information, please see the attached announcement

Opportunities to Try New SHRP2 Products (Round 7)

The SHRP2 Implementation Assistance Program (IAP) is offering one final round of opportunities to apply for financial assistance to try out new SHRP2 products. Several TSM&O products are being offered:

  • Regional Operations Forum - to develop/advance State TSM&O training programs
  • Reliability Data and Analysis Tools - to better consider operations and reliability in decision-making through better data, tools, and performance measures
  • Reliability in Simulation and Planning Models - to generate realistic reliability measures using simulation models to evaluate the effects of scenarios, strategies, projects, or practices on non-recurring congestion

USDOT Connected Vehicles Pilot Deployment Program: Technical Assistance Webinar Series

Sponsored by USDOT Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office, the Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Program seeks to combine connected vehicle and mobile device technologies in innovative and cost-effective ways. Ultimately, this program will improve traveler mobility and system productivity while reducing environmental impacts and enhancing safety. The USDOT has selected three pilot sites, where teams are in the process of conducting Phase 1 Concept Development activities leading to later phases. A series of USDOT-sponsored technical assistance webinars has been developed to assist not only the three selected sites, but also other early deployers. USDOT ITS Joint Program Office: Updates to the Open Source Application Development Portal (OSADP)

The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office (JPO) has made significant updates the OSADP 2.0 to enhance the experience for all users to find and access ITS-related applications.  The OSADP provides web-based access and collaboration on the source code and documentation for innovative, open source transportation applications.  The OSADP features Connected Vehicle and other ITS-related applications from the USDOT ITS Program and other sources to support the use and development of this technology.
