NOCoE Joins Engineering Workforce Consortium 

On February 24, 2026, the Engineering Workforce Consortium (EWC) announced that the National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE)  joined the collaborative effort to address the critical workforce shortage impacting infrastructure development across the United States.

“NOCoE is pleased to sign on to the Engineering Workforce Consortium to help inform audiences on workforce development opportunities as this is an important component for the nation’s transportation systems management and operations industry, including the education of students on careers and increasing the skills of the current workforce,”  said Nevada Department of Transportation Director and NOCoE Strategic Advisory Committee Chair Tracy Larkin Thomason.

CTSO Annual Meeting Happening in March 2026

The Committee on Transportation System Operations (CTSO) will be hosting its annual meeting from March 26-27, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Join us during the NOCoE luncheon where we will announce the 2026 TSMO Awards Overall Winner and Joey Sagal TSMO Leadership Award Winner.

NOCoE Interviews Student Winner at 2026 TRB Annual Meeting

During the 2026 TRB Annual Meeting, NOCoE Director Nicholas Ramfos interviewed student contest winner Gabriel Geffen. Gabriel, a doctoral candidate at the University of Arizona, won the contest with his video on the use of AI for ramp metering, which he also presented on during a poster session.

Featured in this webinar will be two presentations on transportation agencies who are leveraging technology to advance their TSMO programs, including City of Bellevue Department of Transportation and Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet).
