TMS Emerging Topics Series: Cybersecurity
June 25, 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. EDT

Description
Traffic Management Systems (TMSs) infrastructures have traditionally been designed, operated, or managed as closed systems. They leverage the information sharing from other systems, their agency, systems external to their agency, or other interests. The exchange and utilization of data heightens the vulnerability of the TMS to potential cyber threats and attacks. In addition, the emergence and use of modern technologies or methods to share data (e.g., wireless) magnify the threat landscape for the controlled, safe, and reliable operation of TMSs. This webinar will focus on:
  • Cybersecurity issues to consider in planning, design, development, implementation, testing and acceptance, initiation, management and operation, maintenance, and repair of TMSs or specific assets and resources.
  • Policies, practices, and tools to use in support of addressing, mitigating, or recovering from cyber security threats or actions (e.g., disruption of service, data breaches, cyber-attacks).
This webinar is part of an ongoing series focused on emerging TMS topics. It is hosted by the Traffic Management Center Pooled Fund Study and co-sponsored by the NOCoE and FHWA.
