Talking TIM Webinar Series: November 2019

Overview

The Talking TIM webinar series brings to your desk the great and varied work happening on the ground and around the country in traffic incident management. Topics touch on issues of relevance for TIM executives, managers, operators, and responders. Be sure to tune in to each session for ideas, tools, and resources to support and advance safe and quick clearance of roadway incidents. The series is sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the National Operations Center of Excellence. In November, we'll hear from Washington State and Tennessee about new activities in their state to increase their TIM capabilities.

Instructors:

James Austrich – Welcome, Introductions and FHWA Update: James will provide an update on the National TIM Responder Training Program and discuss the outcomes of the 3rd Senior Executive Transportation and Public Safety Summit. He will also highlight activities around the country that occurred during the 2019 National Traffic Incident Response Awareness Week.

Tony Leingang – Reinvigorating Washington States TIM Activities: Tony is the State Incident Management and Operations Administrator for the Washington State Department of Transportation. He will be discussing the formation and success of the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Corridor Joint Operations Group (JOG), the creation of the Seattle Area and Tacoma Area JOGs, recent TIM training activities, and the latest updates to the Washington State Joint Operations Policy Statement (JOPS).

Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Protect the Queue Initiative: A representative from TDOT will be providing an overview of their Protect the Queue Initiative. This initiative stresses to all TDOT employees and partnering agencies the importance of protecting drivers caught in a traffic queue.
