Overview
The TSA website (https://www.tsa.gov/firstobserver ) offering new First Observer Plus™ (FOP) online video training modules has now gone “live.” The website provides stakeholders with a link to view any of the new First Observer Plus training videos that have been produced to date. It also provides a link that takes users to a brief registration page (no logon or password required) and then allows them to print out an individual, modally specific “Certificate of Completion.” The certificate recognizes their participation in the FOP training program.
Additionally, the website supports the registration of stakeholders who may attend any FOP onsite classroom training sessions conducted in the future, and also provides classroom trainees with access to a Certificate of Completion. Through the website, stakeholders are also able to request onsite training provided by TSA, although the infrastructure and personnel to fully support onsite training are not currently in place to accommodate all requests. An interim plan is being developed that prioritizes any requests for training and uses TSA personnel to address those requests on a limited basis. Long range plans involve a contractor supported system that adds stakeholder trainers, private sector trainers, and (to a lesser degree) some TSA engagement to accommodate stakeholder requests for FOP onsite training. More details regarding onsite training will be provided once additional details have been finalized.
Also attached are four (4) FOP modally specific FOP posters in PDF format that can be printed or shared as needed. Full size posters (28” x 22”) are available in limited quantities, but are not readily conductive to mailing due to the thickness of the paper. They will be reprinted in a more user-friendly configuration. A new “flyer” outlining the program is also attached, and a new FOP brochure is being developed that will soon be available.
First Observer Plus™ is a constantly evolving program that will continuously be revised and updated. Additional training modules for Haz Mat Trucking, Food & Ag Trucking, Stadium/Arena Parking, and Law Enforcement are currently under development, due out later this year.
